Why our family needs a mini van….

Why Our Family Needs A Minivan

Disclosure: This post was sponsored by Toyota Canada. In exchange for this post I have received perks in the form of compensation and was lent a vehicle for shooting purposes. All opinions on this blog are my own.

As you know, Josie and I do almost everything together. Our mom has always said, from the moment Josie was born, we were inseparable. We work together, we Facebook Live together, we fight together, and we vacation together. Exactly what sisters do right? With the recent purchase of our new cottage, we want to start driving up to the cottage together; it is easier on us and the kids. Especially if our husbands can’t come due to work obligations, it is easier for us to just pick up and go. Also taking one vehicle as opposed to two really helps us to save on gas. We have struggled to find the right vehicle to accommodate our needs, but we think we have finally found it. The 2019 Toyota Sienna.

We recently got the opportunity to partner with Toyota and test out the 2019 Sienna, and can I please tell you how excited I am about this minivan? It is almost like they designed it with me in mind. There is ample room for adults and kids (it can fit 7 or 8 people depending on the model), it comes equipped with a rear seat entertainment system (not available on all models) and, in my opinion the best feature is the stunning panoramic glass moon roof. These features alone will make car trips to the cottage way more enjoyable!

Believe it or not, I am not done yet. Safety is my primary concern. I am driving with precious cargo. Ella, GM and Mr. A. I need to know they are safe and secure and the car I am driving meets my high standards for safety. It is not that I am afraid of driving, it is just that now that I am a mom, I am more aware of driving hazards. What I liked about the Toyota Sienna is that I feel secure; especially as it is the only all-wheel-drive vehicle in its class. The other features that give me comfort are the Blind Spot Monitor and Rear Cross Traffic Alert (I really love this!), the 8 airbags the minivan comes with and it’s suite of safety technology features, Toyota Safety Sense. This bundle of features includes – Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, Automatic High Beams and Dynamic Radar Cruise Control. With so much going on both within and outside the car, these additional features are a welcomed addition.

There are also a host of added features that just add that additional “YES” factor to our drive. We love the 3 Zone Automatic Climate Control. Let’s be real here. As a driver, I like to keep the temperature a little cooler. The kids on the other hand – they love it warm. We used to struggle over this. The temperature went up. Then it went down. Now, peace and harmony rule. Each area allows you to be in control. We also love the 5 USB ports. Between phones and tablets, everyone needs power and now they have it! No more fighting for the only working device. Oh, what a great way to keep them occupied. And the dual power sliding doors just makes getting in and out all the easier! We thought one was revolutionary. Imagine having two power sliding doors.

So, the wives and kids love it, what about our hubbies? We asked them to put the Sienna to the test. They only had one main requirement. The minivan has to fit three hockey bags and sticks. The verdict? Double thumbs up!

With so many features and amenities that meets the needs of the growing family, the Toyota Sienna is truly a family van.

We put the minivan to the test with the kids and wanted to show you a glimpse into our not so instagrammable life, which happens to be our reality. Check out the video below!
